If you have had a sauna house experience much of this will be familiar to you. And with that we say WELCOME HOME! For those who are new to the sauna culture, you are in for a treat. It is unlike anything you may have experienced. It might seem new and different first, but with an openness to enduring the hot and the cold you may experience the full range of sauna sensations. You may come back often and frequent sauna-ing might just change your life. But here are some details about how The Lost Faucet works.
- The Lost Faucet offers an authentic, hot sauna. In order to reap the benefits most people find that they must push through a certain amount of initial discomfort. The good news is that the more your do it – the better you get at it.
- The Lost Faucet is currently taking private bookings of up to 6 people.
- Heat-seekers 19 years and older are welcome!
- Private group bookings are available and require a reservation.
- Bring with you:
- a bathing suit (you may also go top-tional)
- a towel (for showering or a larger one for wearing – we only have 1 smaller size)
- non-slip indoor flipflops (you will be asked to sanitize then by submersion so rubber flip flops are best)
- a refillable water bottle
- a robe if you desire (great for sitting out on the patio)
- and a method of payment. You may pay in advance for a contactless transaction – buy a gift card for the amount and it will be in our system when it is time to pay.
- You will be provided towels for use in the sauna, and shower/hair soap. We do not offer robes though you are welcome to bring your own if that is your preference. Flipflops available for purchase and we also have loaners. We have all purpose soap acceptable to use as shampoo, though you may wish to bring your own shampoo and conditioner.
- You must sign a waiver before entering the sauna. If you have health conditions or are pregnant you should check in with your doctor before using sauna and frequent sauna-ing. http://thelostfaucet.ca/prepare-for-your-visit/waiver/
- Private session limit is 2.5 hours. We recommend that you go through at least 2 heat, cooling, and resting cycles. Please see recommended cycle in “The Sauna House Experience” http://thelostfaucet.ca/about/the-sauna-house-experience/
- There are cold drinks for purchase. But a good sweat produces a healthy appetite. Check out our many great local restaurants in the Comox Valley for full meals.
- Sauna can be personal or social but above all, sauna is a respectful place. Keeping your volume at a reasonable level will please the Sauna Elf. Profanity, rude talk, and disrespect of other’s sacred sweating time may result in the Sauna Elf becoming upset.
